Dummy Pit Stops in #F1

So what if Mercedes did try to sucker Williams during the British GP? That sort of thing has been going on since the early days of motor sport and we don’t see the problem.
Yes there could be an H&S issue; people in the pit lane are always at risk, but here we are talking about an empty pit lane anyway so let’s not be silly.
The only time that such a tactic might be inadvisable is if one of the teams in an adjacent garage was pitting, both from the risk of getting hit and also from the dummy crew impeding the other vehicle, so this is one rule that we think they don’t need. A bit of kidology is a Fair part of the game and if they really think that there is a safety issue then let them implement something else that we have advocated here before as a cost saving measure; limit the number of people over the wall during pit stops.

our new space at Gloucester Quays Antiques Centre @glosantiques

We have moved into our new space (unit 2.6) and are now on the opposite side of the top floor overlooking the docks and Waterways Museum.
Chris Bayley Automobilia, who we used to share a space with, now have a cabinet more or less opposite our new space and into our old space has moved a seller specialising in sporting memorablila so there are plenty of Mantiques amongst all of the other 100 or so dealers who sell at GQAC.
Having more room has allowed us to get more stock in and we have a diverse range of car, bus, train, truck, plane, ship and horse related items at prices from around a fiver up to a few hundred quid. We try to top up stock every three weeks or so and are always on the lookout for new things. Pride of place this week goes to a standard lamp in the form of a Victorian street lamp complete with flickering gas light effect bulb.
It looks like a scorcher of a summer this year, but the docks and the river do bring a cool breeze and the antiques centre is air conditioned so come on out and spend the day in Gloucester docks and quays. loads to do and see, plenty of places to eat, lots of car parking and we are only about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the station.

What a difference a track makes #F1

The Canadian GP showed why the right track can make a difference, for whilst the front runners were cruising around in formation we had some great racing going on elsewhere down the field.
Why? Because there are places where passing is possible; fast corners, slow corners, decent straights and places where you can outbrake. None of the slot car track nonsense that we have seen in newer circuits over the last thirty years or so, just the basics for good racing.
Long may it be a part of F1.
