why didn’t the Canadian GP start at 0800 EST? #F1

OK, so our tongue is firmly in cheek here, but if Bernie can put pressure on the Aussies to run their GP in the evening so that us European viewers can watch it at our normal GP viewing time why are the Canadian, and the US and Brazil for that matter, organisers not under pressure to start their races on 0800 EST? Weekend round up – 10th June 2012 #Indycar #NASCAR #F1

Plenty of top action this weekend with #IndyCar from Texas, #NASCAR out in the wilds of Pocono and #F1 on the river in Canada. Plenty of pit road speeding penalties too.

Weekend round up – 4th June 2012 #NASCAR #IndyCar #DTM #F1

This weekend saw #NASCAR in action on the Monster Mile and the #Indycar boys and girls on the streets of Detroit. The #DTM were on another away race, this time in Austria at Spielberg and #F1 had a weekend off before their Canadian outing next weekend. They also lost another of their elder statesmen with the death of Roy Salvadori at 90. Continue reading

Roy Salvadori RIP

With a name like that he could only have been a racing driver really, but he was also a successful businessman and, most of all, a gentleman.

As a man of his word he stuck with Aston Martin’s dreadful F1 project instead of staying on with Cooper where he might have won a world championship; certainly he would have won a Grand Prix or two. Instead of rear engined results he followed the handshake agreement into wasted time and races with one of the last front engined F1 cars. Continue reading
