the real mr excitement #F1 #NASCAR

Recently there has been a rash of people using the tag Mr Excitement to describe Kamui Kobyashi, or Kobykrashi as others have long called him, but to me that is something of a travesty. Continue reading

#F1 silly season re-visited

In the wake of the Korean GP and another good drive by Felipe Massa we hear that Ferrari are to retain him for 2013 and good for both sides. He’s a decent bloke and a decent driver so it’s good to have him confirmed for next year and Fernando has him firmly where he wants him having taken the team by the scruff of its neck very much as Michael did. #NASCAR so how about MWR then?

We’re used to seeing the usual battle fleets running in the top ten; Rousch, Hendrick, Childress and it was no real surprise to see Stewart Haas join them, but have you noticed the new kids on the block?

All of a sudden we are starting to see a trio of MWR Toyotas sat in the top 10, so how will they fare this weekend in Texas? I’m pretty sure they will do well again. Sunday will tell.

all change at torro rosso

The news came as a bit of a shock, and more so not doubt to Seb and Jaime, but, as a stance, we have to admire the principle that Torro Rosso are adopting. Where we have a problem is in that they seem to have made it up the other day; why else did they not let their existing drivers know earlier so that they had chance to chase some of the other rides?

And having them fulfilling PR duties up until the day before the announcement does seem a touch cynical to say the least.

Hopefully the new lads will do well, and that Seb and Jaime can pick up a ride elsewhere. They both deserve it.
