Things have gone well with the virtual shops on the web site and on eBay, but working with mail order has led us to keep to selling things that conform to the “large letter” format as the more lumpy items are expensive to post and more prone to damage. Shipping costs can be exorbitant and so we have tried to stick to smaller and flatter things.
So we are in the process of taking a space at the Gloucester Antiques Centre in the historic docks complex. There is ample parking there plus the attractions of the Waterways Museum and the Gloucester Quays Outlet Village all in a compact area 5 minutes walk from the city centre. There is also plenty of parking available as well as good public transport links and there are plenty of places to eat.
We just have a couple of things to tidy up, but we are signed up to open and all being well the space will be available for us to occupy in around 3 weeks time. As soon as we are up and running we will tell you all about it.
Stock at our Gloucester Antiques Centre location will include a good range of books and magazines, but we will also have wall space for some good framed pictures and posters as well as a display cabinet for some other collectibles.
The centre is easy to find, but a location map is here. Bring the family and make a day out of it; you can even take a short cruise from the Waterways Museum. Gloucester Antiques Centre is open seven days a week year round (except Christmas and Boxing Days).
Watch this space for news!
